7 d, H7 F( d" L7 [2 SMotion-picture musical about an orphan boy living in the streets of London, England, during the 19th century, based on the often-filmed 1960 play by Lionel Bart adapted from the novel Oliver Twist (1837-1839) by Charles Dickens. Released in 1968, this film won six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for British director Carol Reed.

Oliver! was also the last musical to win the Best Picture Oscar until Chicago 34 years later.
