I can never understand the reason for using foreign names. Look at Japaneses and Korean. They are very pro-Western and yet very few of them has christain names unless they are cshristains. Yet in China you encounter Mary, peter, Paul....... everyday everywhere. I really feel disguised. By the way I am Chinese and I can speak and write Chinese. i totally agree with that. i can understand why you would give your kid an english name if you live in the US or something. but why bother if you live in china. why can't you come up with something good in chinese? even chinese parents here insist on giving their kids a chinese name on top of a english name for convenience. BTW, those parents are obviously uneducated to the extremes. even people in hong kong don't do that... i have a chinese name and am very proud of it even if it sounds strange in english. i hope she will loose the sue and be forever kept from registering her daughter with that name.作者: jason22576 時間: 2008-6-22 08:09 AM
