When I was a boy, I had my hair cut on the sidewalk too. I am glad that we don't do it anymore now. A years later the Indian may have the same feeling as me. They will happy about their life improvement.
We can find similar roadside barbar stall in China now. It was an usual practice in the 196X Hong Kong.
The picture reminded me of the memory of our old odd day when Hong Kong was still very poor.
One thing that the barbar shop of the 196x is better than that in India was that: we had loads of 公仔書. Some children unwilling to leave even after having their hair cut. I can vividly recall my happy childhood although it was very very poor in Hong Kong.
Happiness is can be sources from simplicity.
