Ferrari's Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen struggled again at a German Grand Prix circuit that has given him plenty of heartache in the past. * O* X  C! z6 j4 V; b

The Finn, tied on 48 points in the championship with McLaren's overall leader Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa, qualified sixth for Sunday's race with his two rivals together on the front row.
"All weekend long we have been struggling a bit to find a good set-up for the car," Raikkonen said.
"At the end of yesterday, it seemed we were on the right road and this morning we tried to improve still further down this path, but it was not the right one.公仔箱論壇/ T: w3 E3 h- w4 f
"Clearly, sixth place is not satisfying and tomorrow we won't be in for an easy time, but it's definitely not the end of the world," he added.
Raikkonen had started on pole position in his last two visits to Hockenheim with McLaren in 2005 and 2006, the last time the circuit hosted a grand prix.
On both occasions he was unable to convert the advantage into victory after mechanical problems.4 E" e1 p2 a7 w7 [
Indeed, in six races at Hockenheim Raikkonen has only once finished in the points -- his third place in the most recent attempt in 2006.
The unflappable Finn will not lose too much sleep about the situation.

"If you look at a year ago, I was in a worse position than right now so I'm pretty happy," he told reporters at Hockenheim earlier this week.
"For sure, whatever is going to happen, if I lose it's probably not going to be hurting as much as if I weren't to have won it," he said of a title battle that has so far seen four different drivers lead the standings.
"Last year nobody really expected us to win and we were still able to win.
"So even when we have had bad races this year I have not been too worried about it because you can see how quickly it changes even this year."6 }8 Q* ?& M2 P

Lewis Hamilton overtook Heikki Kovalainen, Felipe Massa and Nelson Piquet in the closing stages to win a thrilling German Grand Prix at Hockenheim./ n0 [/ }' I3 s3 ^6 w3 R9 Q/ D0 k
The British McLaren driver won his second successive race to take sole possession of the lead in the drivers' championship, four points ahead of Ferrari's Massa.

Renault's Piquet, operating a one-stop strategy, claimed his first podium finish in Formula One in second, with Massa third and Kimi Raikkonen sixth.

Despite setting a blistering pace throughout, Hamilton nearly lost the race thanks to a tactical blunder by his team.

A big crash involving Timo Glock brought the safety car out but Hamilton, who was leading, opted not to take a pit stop and as a consequence was relegated to fourth after he pitted later in the race.

However, Hamilton used his superior pace to overtake Heikki Kovalained, Massa and Piquet, all at the same hairpin, to secure a magnificent victory.

Polesitter Hamilton led from pole position and immediately built a commanding advantage over Massa, while world champion Raikkonen continued to struggle with his set up and languished in the lower points positions.

The German's Toyota suffered suspension failure entering the start-finish straight and smashed into the pit wall. Glock was taken to hospital, although Toyota said he had no visible injuries, and his retirement prompted the safety car to come out.公仔箱論壇1 S' s6 i. I- F2 G

While the other front-runners all pitted at the first opportunity, McLaren bizarrely decided to keep Hamilton out. Massa emerged from his stop and caught up with the safety car, just 50 metres off the leader who still had to come in.

Hamilton moves on to 58 championship points, four clear of Massa, seven ahead of Raikkonen and 10 ahead of BMW's Robert Kubica, who was seventh.

Kubica's BMW team-mate Nick Heidfeld was fourth, while Sebastian Vettel took the final points position for Toro Rosso.
