Hong Kong people, before 1990s, only think Chinese is Cantonese.

chinese 不一定是指华人 也可以翻译成华文 所以没有问题

What's wrong with the word "Chinese"?  The word "Chinese" has multiple implications, just like any other words like "English" , "German" and "French"~~~   When you are in a place where majority of the public speaks Cantonese (which is a local dialect of Chinese), asking a person to "Speak Chinese" means you want that person to speak in that local dialect, i.e. Cantonese in this case! tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb. s; Z0 K/ V1 a$ v; l4 _6 k" H7 i7 C
