I must say I do not have a particular good impression on Japan before. However, after this calamity, the Japanese people earn my deepest respect. They face this epic catastrophe with undaunted spirit, upholding civility and altruism. Although the impact of this disaster is still developing and unfolding, most of them deal with the aftermath with sublime perseverance and courage. I can't help comparing this incident with the earthquake in 四川 a few years ago, peoples (officials as well as ordinary folks) took advantage of the situation. From grabbing the aids and funds into their own pockets to selling orphans for profit, I begin to understand why Japan is a great nation despite its diminishing role in economic influence. I also have a better understanding of what is soft power 軟實力 and China still has a long way to catch up. God bless Japan. |
