貝碧托夫以多於 30﹐000票 (56%), 後來居上擊敗熱門人選維迪, 當選曼聯一月最佳球員。

Dimitar Berbatov has been namedManUtd.com Player of the Month for January, clinching 56 per cent ofthe votes as more than 50,000 fans logged on to have their say.
Nemanja Vidic had been leading our monthly poll, but Berbatov rallied late support in excess of 30,000 votes.
OurJanuary shortlist included Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Edwin vander Sar – all justifiable selections. But the frontrunners wereBerbatov and Vidic (who came second 28 per cent of the votes). Carrickcame in with 7 per cent, ahead of van der Sar (6 per cent) and Giggs (3per cent).
United's assistant manager Mike Phelan says the award was fully justified.
"Everybodyhas an opinion about Dimitar, which is good, and over the last monthespecially he's shown signs of becoming a very good player for United,"he told ManUtd.com.
"I think there's everychance that, with the work he puts in, the learning he's trying to do,he will continue to improve as a player here."
Beating Vidic tothe accolade speaks volumes of Berbatov's contribution. Vidic haswidely been tipped to make the shortlists for this season’s Player ofthe Year awards, and is attributed with a significant role in United’s recent record run of clean sheets.
ButBerbatov has been in a rich vein of form himself. The statistics backit up; he scored four goals in seven starts in January. At Old Traffordhe scored against Chelsea and his former club Tottenham, and added acrucial late winner at Bolton and started the 5-0 romp at West BromwichAlbion.
Almost as importantly, his classy touches and glorious passing have captured fans’ imaginations - and subsequently their votes.
Butdon't expect Berbatov to settle on his current form. He told usrecently: "Even when things are going great, I keep on telling myself Ineed to do more. I’m a perfectionist, I set high standards."
