BENITEZ: CITY IS TEST OF CREDENTIALS
Rafa Benitez admits the trip to Man City will provide evidence of whether Liverpool have the consistency to improve on last season's fourth-place finish.

The Reds failed to convert chances during a goalless draw at the City of Manchester last December – a situation repeated on several occasions during 2007-08.
Now, with Liverpool flying high in the Premier League, Benitez has told his players that Sunday's fixture is the kind they must win in order to sustain a title charge.
"If you want to be a contender in the league, you have to be consistent – you have to win games in a row," the manager told his pre-match press conference.
"It was clear last season that we were in a good moment but it finished 0-0 even though we had a lot of chances. It is important to do the right things this year."
Reporters went on to quiz Benitez on City boss Mark Hughes.
The Spaniard responded: "He is a great manager. He was doing a very good job at Blackburn and hopefully he can do the same now at City – after this game."
|
