Such beautiful underwater and above the surface pictures of the penguin flying out of the water. What is particularly amazing is the large number of penguins all flying through the water and travelling on ice together. I was once fortunate enough to see a large crowd of penguins come onto the shore in Melbourne. Wonderful sight indeed! Would be even better if I can see them travelling along the polar ice caps, similar to the 5th picture above.

I find the The Emperor Penguin is especially distinct. It is the tallest and heaviest of all the different breeds of penguins, and with its yellow strip/patch near its beak and neck, it really does stand out from the crowd.

On a side note, it is very sad when we hear of news of an oil spill affecting penguins and other marine life. Hopefully such environmental disasters can be prevented from happening.
