教育局的新聞官周二傍晚代吳克儉回覆主場新聞查詢,否認吳當日有指斥傳媒不負責任,他提出的「不負責任刊物」,是指由民間出版、被批內容偏頗的《中國模式國情專題教學手冊》,並非歸咎傳媒,只是當時沒有點名說明所指的是《中國模式》手冊。

For the national education. Two things there. The subject has been evolving for 5 to 6 years. It's never from Mainland. It's all from civil education and Chinese History from Hong Kong. After many years of consultation, the plan was to launch it 3 years schedules starting from last year September. Unfortunately some of the very very irresponsible false communicator, publications came out, shocked the whole world and caused a lot of confusion. However, we make it very clear with a consensus. First, moral, national and civil education, are all the supportive program of learning for the student. Schools and school sponsoring bodies are the ones who make the decision either do it or not do it, do it in whatever form will be the decision from the schools and the sponsoring bodies. No one should be in a position to stop them and to erge them. For the gov’t and the Edu bureau, I will no longer use that particular curriculum guide, to do the school inspection. We just relax the whole area, so do it or not will be something to, up to schools’ independently decision. That is something we try to do now, to stop them and to urge them.
