These days there are many towns who take part in the festivities but the two with the most history and largest festivals are Wiarton, Ontario and Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Here is a brief look at their past predictions.
            
                    
                                                    If no shadow is seen, it's an indication of an early spring.
            
                                            If a groundhog sees his shadow, spring is six weeks away.

She is probably right because your city didn't snow as much as my city did today.
