Hong Kong people, before 1990s, only think Chinese is Cantonese.

chinese 不一定是指华人 也可以翻译成华文 所以没有问题

) ~# y1 {* ~. {$ H, G1 QWhat's wrong with the word "Chinese"?  The word "Chinese" has multiple implications, just like any other words like "English" , "German" and "French"~~~   When you are in a place where majority of the public speaks Cantonese (which is a local dialect of Chinese), asking a person to "Speak Chinese" means you want that person to speak in that local dialect, i.e. Cantonese in this case!

其實入面d生硬ge英文，睇落又好match到齣戲，有種"專登講英文,突顯出地位ge意思...."
