Depend on your CPU, if you are using PII or above , you don't need to buy a new one.

WD 1TB external harddisk with 1394, USB2.0 and eSATA is about 1140

WD 1TB with USB2.0 is about 1040

Buffalo 1TB EXT harddisk with 1394, USB 2.0 is arround 13XX.

100% can tell you that it is cheaper than external harddisk , yesterday i bought a 500GB external harddisk is arround $650 and a inernal one is just 5XX

Not sure, you need to check the serial number on the packaging and on the harddisk, and buy it from some large shop like Jumbo or Sam Technology in Monkok, or Gold Computer in Wai Chai Computer computer center.

i heart my friend said that some shop may buy some renew harddisk sell it as new one.
