I like mkv as it is more flexible.  You can add 2nd audio, different types of subtitles.  But MP4 is fine too as it can be viewed on Apple devices without the need for conversion.  RMVB is NOT supported on most of the TVs, so definitely no RMVB and usually they are not of good quality compared to mkv and MP4.
